Zoom Multisport Town Hall Meeting & Elections

The entire board is up for reelection and we want YOU!!! Zoom was founded on the fundamentals of grassroots involvement and giving the members the forum to do what is right for themselves and each other - You can be involved as much or as little as you'd like..... set up group rides, plan educational moments, and of course gather for social events. These things happen organically but there is still a lot of planning that goes on behind the scenes for things like Tri Mania, Ragnar, the Beer Mile, and our Team races and parties. Do you want to be a part of that?? Of course you do - who wouldn't!?  If you want to run for one of the positions, please self nominate yourself via this survey


Job Descriptions

President (Term: 2 Years)

  • Sponsorship Relationship Management
  • Sponsor Recruitment
  • High Level Admin (Gov't filings,etc)
  • Guidance & leadership
  • Approve expenses
  • Schedule & lead quarterly Board meetings
  • Schedule, set agenda, & lead Town Hall meeting
  • Provide assistance and support to all other Board members

VP of Finance (Term: 2 Years)

  • Develop annual budget
  • File taxes (in conjunction with President)
  • Manage bank account & approve expenses
  • Manage member dues process
  • Work with other Board members to discover alternative revenue streams (sponsorships, advertising, etc)


VP of Operations Responsibilities (Term: 1 Year)

  • Organize team calendar
  • Establish and manage relationships with local contacts (race directors, training venue contacts, etc)
  • Manage Mingle Monday bookings
  • Secure Team discounts for entry fees whenever possible
  • Manage Team Tent
  • Manage annual relay process
  • Design, source & organize gear orders
  • Plan annual member appreciation party at end of season
  • Coordinate team workout schedule
  • Recruit & Manage team event leaders


 

VP of Membership Responsibilities (Term: 1 Year)

  • Answer questions from prospective members (email)
  • Manage member accounts (retention & keeping people current)
  • Organize member appreciation events/contests/etc
  • Point person for issues/questions
  • Manage member recruitment initiatives (including Expo)
  • Develop/Implement New Member Welcome process

 

VP of Communications Responsibilities (Term: 1 Year)

  • Manage monthly newsletter
  • Manage team blog
  • Manage Social Media accounts
  • Grow email list
  • Develop any necessary marketing collateral (Sponsor Recruitment, Expo, etc)
  • Develop/maintain media library (photos, video, etc)
  • Take Pictures/video at team events


Gear Junkie - Assist the VP of Operations with gear design, team kit orders, special event orders, and any other team related clothing/gear design.

Membership Collaborator - Assist the VP of Membership in recruiting new members. Responsible for greeting any potential new members and introducing them to others at all team functions.

Team Photographer - Be present at team events and take photos during all activities. Responsible for assisting VP of Communications with organization and distribution of team photos through social media.

Team Relay Organizer - Lead organizing of annual team relay race(s) with the help of the VP of Operations.

Webmaster - Assist the VP of Communications in designing/updating the team website. Responsible for day to day operation of the site. Responsible for ensuring proper site function and that data is backed up regularly.

Workout Coordinator - Assist VP of Operations with maintaining a workout schedule conducive to high attendance. Responsible for attending and helping to lead workouts (if necessary). Swim, Bike, Run

The 2016 Town Hall Meeting and Board Election results will be held at the November Monthly Mingle (7 Nov) located at the Tavern in the Square 730 Massachusetts Avenue Cambridge, MA 02139.

 

We are using this survey to collect names of those who would like to self nominate themselves for one of the 5 board positions. All nominees must renew/join Zoom Multisport for the 2017 membership year.

 

The process from here for election is:

27 September - Solicit team for self nominations

31 October – close off self nominations for board positions
7 November - Board Elections
